No licence is required when you charter with our fully crewed yachts. Our professional captain and crew handle all navigation, so you can simply relax and enjoy the voyage. If you wish to take the helm yourself, please let us know in advance so we can discuss the appropriate option for your experience level.

All crewed charters include the vessel, professional captain and crew, fuel for standard cruising, bed linen and towels, snorkelling equipment, and a welcome hamper with local produce. Meals, beverages, marina fees, and any special excursions are arranged separately and can be added to a bespoke package on request.

Cancellations made more than 60 days before departure receive a full refund of the deposit. Cancellations between 30 and 60 days before departure forfeit 50% of the deposit. Cancellations within 30 days of departure forfeit the full deposit. We strongly recommend taking out comprehensive travel insurance to cover unexpected changes to your plans.

A 30% deposit is required to confirm your charter reservation. We accept bank transfer (IBAN provided on invoice), major credit and debit cards, and PayPal. The remaining balance is due 30 days before your departure date. All transactions are processed securely, and you will receive a confirmation email with full payment details after your inquiry is reviewed.

We love animals and welcome well-behaved dogs on board on most of our vessels, subject to prior approval. Please inform us when making your inquiry so we can confirm suitability for your chosen yacht and advise on any additional cleaning deposit. Cats and other pets are considered on a case-by-case basis.

A welcome hamper with local specialities, fresh fruit, water, and soft drinks is provided on arrival. Full catering packages — including daily breakfast, lunch, and a three-course dinner prepared by our onboard chef Marko — are available at an additional cost. We happily accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and allergy-specific diets; simply let us know your requirements when booking.

Yes, all Maro Charter vessels are equipped with a 4G maritime router providing WiFi throughout the yacht. Signal strength varies depending on your location along the coast and between islands. For guests wishing to stay fully connected, we recommend a local SIM card as a backup. We also encourage you to embrace a little digital detox — the Adriatic has a way of making you forget your inbox!

We recommend soft-sided bags or duffel bags rather than hard suitcases, as storage space is limited. Essentials include light, breathable clothing, a warm layer for evenings, non-slip deck shoes (no black soles), swimwear, sunscreen, sunglasses, a wide-brim hat, and any personal medications. Leave heavy electronics and valuables at home and pack light — you'll spend most of your time in swimwear!

The peak sailing season runs from June to September, with July and August offering the warmest sea temperatures (around 26°C) and longest days. Early June and September are ideal for those who prefer fewer crowds and calmer winds. May and October are popular with experienced sailors seeking dramatic scenery and excellent fishing. Our team can advise on the best timing for your preferred destinations.

Our vessels cater to different group sizes. Maro Star accommodates up to 10 guests in 5 cabins; Maro Blue comfortably sleeps 8 guests in 4 cabins; and Maro Spirit is perfect for smaller groups of up to 6 guests in 3 cabins. Day-trip charters may accommodate additional guests on deck. Contact us if you have a larger group and we can discuss tailored solutions.

Safety is our absolute priority. Our captain monitors forecasts continuously and will always choose the safest course of action. If adverse weather prevents sailing, we will find a comfortable alternative anchorage or marina and adjust the itinerary accordingly. In the rare case that an entire charter must be cancelled due to extreme weather (e.g. a bora storm warning), we will offer a full reschedule or refund in line with our policy.

Yes, all Maro Charter vessels carry comprehensive maritime insurance including third-party liability, hull and machinery cover, and passenger liability. Our crew hold valid STCW safety certifications and undergo regular training. We also carry a full complement of safety equipment — life rafts, EPIRBs, flares, life jackets, and first-aid kits — all inspected and certified to Croatian Maritime Authority standards. Guests are advised to arrange personal travel and medical insurance independently.
